The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. MDA also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.
As part of its metro research efforts, MDA currently supports 24 research projects in the Tri-State area and nine local clinics in the New York Metro Area.
These clinics, and others across the country, offer medical services to children, adults and their families affected with any of the more than 40 neuromuscular diseases in MDA’s program.
MDA's programs are funded almost entirely by the voluntary contributions of concerned individuals and cooperating organizations.
